NESTLED IN THE FOOTHILLS OF THE BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS just north of BEDFORD, VIRGINIA, MILLSTONE TEA ROOM offers a culinary destination for local guests and travelers from around the world.
COME IN, relax and dine in our intimate forty seat dining room on the absolute freshest fish and seafood, pasture-fed meats and seasonal produce from our kitchen gardens behind the restaurant. You can also enjoy our collection of loose leaf, estate grown teas or freshly ground organic coffees. Or, you may imbibe from our nightly wine list featuring approachable, easily drinkable wines by the glass and bottle. THE FOOD
Our meats and fish come from carefully selected purveyors who guarantee meats raised in a natural humane manner and sustainable or organically farmed fisheries as available. This, paired with our fresh from the garden produce, makes for a simple transformative experience in the world of modern American dining.
PECAN BREAD PUDDING
DON'T LET ANYONE FOOL YOU. Melanie's bread pudding is fine just the way it is without the use of bourbon sauce, raisins or rum. She serves it warm with her signature cinnamon ice cream, the same way she's served it for over eight years.
If that doesn't strike your fancy (we couldn't think why), consider her newest addition to the dessert menu: Mrs. Mays' Brown Sugar Pie. Melanie's grandmother, Mrs. Virginia Stevens Mays was gracious enough to give Melanie her recipe for the pie which she would make for us every holiday season. Most guests have either never heard of it or haven't had Brown Sugar Pie in thirty or more years. This vintage treat will definitely knock your socks off!
