RESERVATIONS & POLICIES
Many people ask us “Do you have to have reservations?”
The answer is no. In fact, we encourage you to stop in when we’re open and get
a bite to eat, but remember: we have ten tables, not fifty. Driving out
to see us on a Friday or Saturday night without calling to see if a table is
available might be difficult. We will always reserve tables on a first call,
first serve basis for folks who come far and wide to eat out here, so if you’re
planning on popping in for your 20th anniversary dinner, calling
ahead may help.

dial +1 540 587.7100 (The +1 may not be necessary in all areas of Virginia) If you are received by a voice message, please leave us your name, number and reservation request and we will return your call. We are closed on Mondays and will not schedule reservation requests until Tuesday afternoon on a first call, first served basis. Millstone Tea Room serves dinner Tuesday through Saturday beginning at 5.30pm. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 11.30am until 2pm. Reservations are ENCOURAGED and accepted up to one month in advance from the calendar date. Evening closing times are seasonally variable between November and March; please call in advance. We will only accept reservations by telephone. A confirmation callback may be required during peak season or holiday service; we kindly ask that you confirm or cancel as needed.
POLICIES
No substitutions.
In lieu of gratuities, there will be an 18% service charge on parties of 5 or more (no exceptions).
An 18% service charge will be added to ALL checks on New Year's Eve, St. Valentine's Dinner, Easter Brunch, Mother's Day Brunch & Thanksgiving Lunch.
Please, no separate checks with parties of 10 or more.
A valid credit card number will be taken to reserve a table for parties larger than five (5) or more. Yes, a baby counts if you want an adult chair for her. And, yes, a person in a wheelchair counts as well (sadly, we argued this point once). The reservation cannot be guaranteed if a credit card number does not secure the table. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Valid credit card guarantees for ALL reservations requested will be taken for New Year's Eve, St. Valentine's Dinner, Easter, Mother's Day Brunch & Thanksgiving.
We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover & Traveler's Checks. And maybe your personal check, if we know you.
Please recognize that our establishment is very cozy for 40 or more folks on a busy night and that strong perfumes, colognes, mothballs and body oils may disrupt others. We ask that you refrain from using strong scents so that we all may enjoy ourselves.
Smoking is only allowed outside on our patio. MILLSTONE IS A NONSMOKING RESTAURANT INSIDE AND AROUND ENTRANCES.
As per Virginia law, NO OUTSIDE WINE OR ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED, EVER, IN MILLSTONE TEA ROOM. Sorry if another restaurant allowed this before; Millstone has a great wine list, some beers and plenty of liquor by the drink.
